So just to let you know, I am a high school kid. I'm not like the typical teenager though, I am responsible and unlike how I'm stereotyped, I am a great driver, I've been around cars my whole life and have been driving since as long as I can remember. I will agree that most high school kids are irresponsible and terrible drivers, just don't get that opinion about me, it annoys me. Anyways, now that that's out of the way, I do know cars, I just want to see some other opinions. I don't really know new cars very well, just crawlers, prerunners and classics. I would like to buy from a dealer so that i can pay monthly. I do have a good job that I know I'm going to be keeping through college... because it's my mom's office. I'm looking for a car that I can mess with, maybe a newer tuner? I can't have a car that I can have fun with, it's just impossible for me. This would be my fifth car after a 65 mustang, 68 bug, 90 blazer that I gave to my dad and he made into a crawler, a 95 mark viii (we made it somewhat of a sleeper then sold it), and my current car of a 93 jeep grand cherokee that i wanted to make into a jeepspeed/crawler. So ya, just something fun that I can find at a dealer. Also I do have a 4.0 GPA so my insurance gives a 25% "good student" discount. car insurance. Auto parts : Throttle Rod Coupling Jaguar 1997. Daihatsu . How to Change a 2000 Honda Passport's StarterThe procedure for changing the starter in your 2000 Honda Passport is not difficult. The most difficult part of the project for most people is the fact that you have to crawl under the vehicle to get to the starter. When you pick up your replacement starter, you need to understand that there is a distinct difference between a rebuilt starter and one that is remanufactured. If you are opting to buy a brand new starter, this won't matter. The parts in a remanufactured starter are new, but that is not necessarily the case with a starter labeled as rebuilt. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Automobile jack Jack stand Wheel chocks Marker Masking tape Metric socket set Metric wrench set Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the battery cable by loosening the nut on the terminal with a wrench. Place the wheel chocks behind the rear wheels. 2 Raise the vehicle with the automobile jack and place a jack stand under it near the jacking point. Raise the jack stand up to the frame of the vehicle. 3 Crawl under the car and remove the heated oxygen connector, using a wrench. You will find this on the exhaust pipe. Remove the front pipe from the exhaust, using a wrench to remove the bolts from the clamps. Remove the heat shield from the starter, using a wrench to remove the bolts. 4 Label the electrical wires connected to the starter. Disconnect the wires, using a wrench to remove the nuts and pulling the wires off of the starter. Unplug the wiring harness from the starter. 5 Remove the starter mounting bolts, using a socket and ratchet. Pull the starter away from the engine and put the replacement starter on. Tighten the bolts with the socket and ratchet. 6 Plug the wiring harness back into the starter and then reconnect the other wires according to how you labeled them. Tighten the nuts on the wires with a wrench. 7 Put the exhaust pipe back on and tighten the clamps with the wrench. Reconnect the O2 sensor, using a wrench. Remove the jack stand from under the Passport and lower the vehicle back to the ground. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Tips & Warnings Wear safety glasses when working under your vehicle to prevent eye injuries. Never attempt this project when the vehicle is hot or warm. Serious burns could result.

*Advantages: Maintenance jobs are usually priced at a lower rate than more sophisticated repairs. You aren't penalized if the job takes longer than expected. • Disadvantages: You may have to pay for expensive repairs when the problem could have been corrected in a quicker and cheaper fashion. For instance, some automatic transmission problems are caused by insufficient transmission fluid, but some shops will rebuild or replace the entire transmission instead of simply adding enough fluid to bring the level up to the "Full" line on the dipstick. V* Flat rates and parts commissions: At many chains or department stores, the mechanic shares in the profits on the sale of parts. • Advantages: You aren't penalized if the job takes longer than expected. 988

Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies Getting the Best Possible beat As I've said before, a big repair job is like major surgery. Not only do you want the best possible surgeon, but you also want to be sure that the surgery is nec essary and that it's done under the best possible terms. Therefore, whenever you bring your vehicle in for maintenance or repair, follow these guidelines: Daihatsu . Location on car 740il fog light relay?
Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab. * " If you're dealing with a new shop or you're faced with major repairs, get at least a second opinion and an estimate of costs from another repair shop. If there's a big discrepancy, additional estimates and opinions are in order. If one shop is much lower in price than the others, this is not necessarily the best place to go. Be sure that the work will be of the same quality before you go for the cheapest job. Ask for a written estimate. Many states require one anyway and require the shop to call you if they find that the job will cost more than originally estimated. Beware of general statements; try to get as detailed an estimate of what's involved as possible. Ask that all the parts that are replaced be returned to you, regardless of whether the laws in your state require it. That way, you can be sure that you're getting what you pay for. Ask for credit for the core charge on any rebuildable part that's going to be replaced with a new part. If you're buying a rebuilt part as a replacement, the core charge should be deducted from the price of the part that you buy in exchange for trading in your old part, which will then be rebuilt and sold to someone else. Check the Invoice carefully Make sure that the invoice for the job includes a written guarantee on parts and labor, and find out whether any of the parts installed comes with its own warranty. (This is especially important if it's a big job that involves expensive parts.) Knowing just where the responsibility lies in the event of a dispute or a malfunctioning part always pays off. A standard mechanic's invoice has separate areas, each of which serves a different purpose. To decipher an invoice, match the number preceding each of the following items with the corresponding number on the invoice shown in Figure 22-1: O Description of the work: This area should list each job that needed to be done. When you pick up your vehicle from the shop, check this area item by item to see that everything was taken care of. Figui Ast mec Daihatsu .
